BJGT Sunningdale Heath Challenge 2023
The first of two visits to one of our favourite venues on the BJGT, and Day One saw a hugely successful Parent/Junior even,t with almost 40 pairs taking to the fairways of this little gem of a course.
Our thanks, as always, go to Tom and Warren for all their support and help in setting these events up.
The weather was perfect, lovely and warm, so the scoring was always destined to be good and the field certainly didn’t disappoint.
Florrie Collins, and dad Joe, grabbed their first Parent/Junior title with a fabulous total of 41 points, that included two birdies in their final 5 holes to take the honours.
However, they were pushed all the way by Harry and Richard Edginton, as they matched the 41 points, but with their two birdies coming on the front 9, meant they lost out on the countback based on the final three holes.
Order of Merit leaders, Team Norman, made up of Noah and Stephen, took the final podium place just a single point behind, as their total of 40 also included two birdies, but gave them valuable points in the race for the overall title.
The next Parent/Junior Challenge is at the Summer Cup where Belton Woods will provide a very different test.
