The 6&Under Division headed out first and with the Top 3 on the Order of Merit paired together in the final group there was always going to be some tension and fireworks.
Hamza Marfleet kept his cool to claim a big win and some helpful Order of Merit Points as he chases Rex, with his superb round of 51 good enough to earn him a stunning 7-shot victory.
Louie Goh secured his first podium finish of the season by carding a round of 58 to take second place and a very nice piece of silver glassware.
Rex Pickavance and Harry Edginton fired matching 59’s so required a countback to separate them for third place with Rex getting the decision based on the back 9.
An incredibly talented 7-8 Division was anyones guess but it was the Order of Merit leader who showed just why he’s at the top with a commanding display carding a round of 52, a 1-under par round that included 2 birdies and an eagle, to add another win to his resume this season.
Zen Mcclelland took his first trophy of the season home, taking the runner up position on the podium, finishing 3-shots behind Marcus with a round of 55, that also included 2 birdies.
Brody MacIver chased him home just a single shot further back after his 56, but after 3 birdies a difficult penultimate hole stalled his challenge.
The Girls Division saw Florrie Collins claim the win, her round of 62 gave her a 2-shot margin and put her in 6th place overall, a very impressive result.
The Boys 9-10 Division saw a first time winner on the BJGT as Joshua Jackson took the honours in his debut event, his excellent round of 50 gave him a 4-shot victory over Dylan Barney and Vinnie James who had matching rounds of 54.
Dylan and Vinnie therefore headed for the countback decision in order to decide the order of the remaining podium places, with Dylan having the better final 6 holes he took the silver trophy home leaving Vinnie in third but he moves into the Top 3 on the Order of Merit as we head into the final few events.
The BJGT takes a break from regular events to hold the first IMG Academy Junior World Golf Championships Qualifier at Cambridge Country Club next weekend.
