The first highlight of the day was provided by Luke Chapman who had a Hole-in-One at the 1st, no mean feat if you know the course – it was his first in competition and the first of the BJGT season, so our congratulations go to him!
With the Order of Merit looking incredibly tight, there were some great points on offer here with a field of 33 pairs.
The win went to Team Gibson, with Una being ably support by dad Andrew; their superb total of 37, which included 4 birdies, gave them a 2-shot victory.
The runner-up silver salver went home with Team Dean; however, Kodi and David’s total of 35 required a countback decision over Team Chapman.
The Order of Merit points collected left them in a very strong position on the overall table, as they take a 61-point lead into the Tour Championship at Nailcote Hall.
The final trophy place was therefore claimed by Team Chapman, as they just lost out on the countback decision having also signed for a round of 35.
Obviously a fantastic day for Luke, who was backed up by dad Neil, as they went on to take home a silver salver for third place.
What a hugely successful inaugural Parent/Junior Challenge Series this has been – we now look forward to the Tour Championship at the home of the British Par 3 Championship, Nailcote Hall.
