Huge thanks to Ashley, Andy and the rest of the team for making our first Northern affiliated event such a success at The KP Club.
It is a superb venue and a fantastic course, so when added to a warm welcome and glorious weather, it doesn’t get much better!
Micah Blowers continued his charge at the top of the Junior Open Division, as he fired a superb 74 to claim another win in the Gross category, ahead of The KP Club member Harry Rogers, who finished three shots back, with Peter Pan in third.
A brilliant Net 65 from Sam MacDonald deservedly took the top spot, but only be a single shot, as Harry Micklethwaite, Micah Blowers Lucia Maturi all carded 66s on what was a very low scoring day.
Ronnie Groves also extended his lead at the top of the 11-12 Order of Merit with victory at The KP Club after a round of 84, with Isabel Negron-Jennings in second on 93, which happened to be an astonishing 22 under her handicap!
Daniel Agapito made a winning start to his BJGT 2019 campaign in the 9-10 age group with a fine round of 39 ahead of Lewis Karim in second (43) and Millie Marsh doing it for the girls in third (49).
The two Scottish Frasers were again at the top of the field in the 7-8 Division, and these outstanding young players seem sure to go head-to-head for the whole season.
On this occasion, it was Fraser Walters who came out on top, but only by virtue of a countback, as he and Fraser Mackenzie both carded 39s, with Lucas Skilbeck making his second BJGT start of 2019 in third on 45.
Marcus Karim jumped up to second in the 6 & Under Order of Merit with a win after a round of 41, with Stella Walters also shining a light for the girls in second.
The BJGT now moves West to Cumberwell Park for a Parent/Junior Par 3 competition on 18 May, which will include the daunting 8th hole’s island green on the Par 3 course, as well as the main Junior Open on 19 May.
We look forward to seeing you there!
