HOT! HOT! HOT!

For the first time this year, the scorching Bank Holiday weather actually hindered rather than helped, as the heat provided a test that players in this country are not necessarily used to.
The course, however, played superbly, with hard running fairways, but receptive fast greens.

Junior Open Category

The Boys Gross Junior Open Division was as close as ever, as Teddy Hall secured another victory with a round of 73, a single shot ahead of Dan Wallace in second, with Tyler Weaver two shots further back in third.
Elle Redgewell (88) took the Girls Gross Divsion ahead of Morgan Mellin (93).
In the Mixed Net Division, Charlie Vaughan took his first victory of the season after a fine round of 66, edging out Sachin Kohli and Luie Hall, who both fired 67s, with Sachin coming out on top of the countback.

11-12 Age Group

Charlie Goodridge also claimed his maiden victory of the season, posting an impressive total of 78 in the 11-12 Division, while OOM leader Ryan Gavin (81) took home the silver medal.

9-10 Age Group

The third first-time winner continued the trend in the 9-10 Division, as Jack Stockton’s total of 46 for 10 holes was good enough for a 4-shot victory over Aryan Alwala, while there was a 3-way tie for third, as Fallon Sawyers-Grandon, Rosie Salter and Joseph Eagle all carded rounds of 51.
Lila-Belle Nacca and Maisie Whittall could not be separated at the top of the GIrls Division, as their superb rounds of 48 saw them post the second best rounds in the overall age group.

7-8 Age Group

Oliver McDonnell added another gold medal to his growing 2019 collection in the 7-8 Division, as a round of 45 was two shots better than playing partner, Alexander Dunmall, who took the silver medal. Jenson Ringer took bronze a further two shots back.

6 & Under Age Group

The 6 & Under Division was headed by two familiar faces, with Sebastian Duffield, the only player to break 40, posting a brilliant 39, leaving Marcus Karim (44) in second, while Ronak Alwala and Ruaan Vamadevan both had rounds of 48, each taking home a bronze medal.

The BJGT moves to Cambridgeshire in September, with St. Ives Hunts GC hosting us on 8 September and Cambridge Meridian on 22 September – these are the final OOM events before the Tour Championship at Foxhills GC on 6 October, very exciting!
