After the terrible weather conditions at our last event, Edgbaston Golf Club, with its outstanding clubhouse and a course in fantastic condition, again provided a superb venue for the BJGT.
Thank you so much, Edgabston Golf Club, you couldn’t have been more helpful, we look forward to returning next year!
6/Under Age Group
One of the rounds of the day came in the youngest age group, as the 6 & Unders put on a display for the home club members, with Sebastian Duffield heading the field with a fine 36, playing off the blue tees (around 1500 yards). Freddie Buck was three shots back in second after a 39 and Callum Akester two shots further back in third.
7-8 Age Group
9-10 Age Group
Luca Randall won the 9-10 Division (playing off the red tees) for the second event running, as he was the only player in the age group to break 40, after a solid 39. Oliver Robertson, another of the Scottish contingent, came home in second with 41 and Maxi Moore, on his BJGT debut, took the bronze medal, leaving him sure to come back wanting more.
Lila-Belle Nacca won the girls 9-10 Division, but only by a single shot from Maisie Whittall, after scores of 43 and 44, respectively.
11-12 Age Group
The 11-12 age group (playing off the red tees) saw a superb battle at the top of the leaderboard, with Ryan Gavin claiming top spot with a superb 73, two shots in front of Ben Bolton after his 75, and Sam Marshall just another two shots further back following his 77.
The 11-12 girls category was headed by Zizi-Mai Wilkins, as she took home the gold medal on her British Junior Golf Tour debut.
Junior Open Category
The main Junior Open (boys playing off the white tees, girls playing off the red tees) saw a superb performance from Charlie Ward, as he claimed double gold, winning both Gross and Net divisions, with 72 Gross and 67 Net.
Satria Cumming followed Charlie home in the boys’ Gross section on 76, with Micah Blowers in third after an 82.
Julia Kerrigan claimed the girls’ Gross section with a 76 – another single shot victory, as she edged out Lili-Rose Hunt into second.
Lili-Rose then also doubled up on her silver medal, but got even closer to the top, as her 67 matched Charlie’s, just losing out on countback, as Ambrose Eaves claimed third with a Net 69 after another countback from Arianna Virik.
