Royston Junior Open: results, report and photos

Royston Junior Open results, report and photos from the penultimate British Junior Golf Tour event of the 2018 junior golf season:

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Royston Golf Club Junior Open! A rather chilly day with the wind on the heath, but a lot of fun nevertheless.

The course looked great, with long wispy rough, fast greens, and with the wind direction, it was playing very long. Royston GC offered a great challenge for all the juniors!

Thank you to Head Pro, Ryan Wingate, and all the other staff from the club who helped out in lead up to the event and on the day. We are already looking forward to coming back in 2019.

Due to the layout of the course, the three youngest divisions played 10 holes.
In the 6 & Under division, Dylan Barney took another victory with 49, with his friends Sully Donald runner-up (51) and Jenson Ringer in 3rd (53).  Also in tied 3rd was our youngest player, Marcus Karim (53).
The 7-8 division saw Tristan Evans take victory (48), with Sapphire Boyce two shots back for the runner-up trophy (50), and another tie for 3rd between Edward Reeves and Ellis Kerr (51).
Luca Randall took another trophy, with 1st place in the boys 9-10 division, with 49, just one shot ahead of Ronnie Groves (50). Pranay Patel won his first trophy of the season by coming 3rd on 54. Once again, Lila-Belle Nacca won in the girls’ 9-10 division, with a fantastic 52.
Paul Collington continued his consistently good form by taking 1st place in the boys 11-13 category, two shots ahead of Jack Lee (85), with Ciara Rushmer taking 1st place in the girls’ 11-13 category (91), ahead of Lily Rigby-Walden (106).

The Royston GC Junior Open, previously won by Sir Nick Faldo, was won by George Johnson, who scored a gross 73, with Mark Stockdale in 2nd place (79) and Zak Rzymkowski in 3rd (82). The net winner, with a score of 66, was Nick Curran.
