Wycombe Heights GC: results, report and photos

The race is on!
Wycombe Heights Golf Centre, which had been retained on the Tour from 2017, was our penultimate 2018 Order of Merit (OOM) event. Our thanks go to all the staff at the club for helping us deliver yet another successful tournament!
It was all about the OOM points, so nerves were on edge, as qualifying places for the Tour Championship at Foxhills GC are still up for grabs…
The 6 & Under division took on the very tricky Par 3 course, with some very interesting approaches required, using the contours of the sloping fairways.
Eisa Nawaz made his first start on the BJGT this season, following two arm breaks, and what a return! A countback with Dominic McKenna, following superb matching 36s, saw Eisa take the runner-up trophy.
Himal Gurung hit form to take his first win of the season in the 7-8 division, by a single shot, and move to within 5 points of the qualifying places for the Tour Championship.
In one of the closest finishes all year, four players finished in a tie for second: Michael Haywood, Tristan Evans, Ellis Kerr and Sapphire Boyce (who is really giving the boys a run for their money!), all posting 39s.
Another first-time winner topped the field in the 9-10s, as Sander Andreasen posted 43, ahead of Luca Randall two shots back and Ronnie Groves a single shot further back.
James Brash handled the pressure superbly to shoot 76 and claim another win in his bid to make the Tour Championship at his home club. Paul Collington continued his consistent form, taking one of the runner-up trophies, alongside Sean Barnfather, with both firing matching 78s.
Thomas Hawke claimed a BJGT debut win with a fine gross 74, ahead of Lewis Beeden, who is looking for the OOM title, leading as it stands by 23 points.
Nicholas Curran took the Net Winner’s trophy after a 71, just a single shot ahead of Jenson Berridge and Jessica Brown, who tied in second.
Just one OOM counting event left, Royston GC in 3 weeks, then it is all down to the Tour Championship at Foxhills!
