St Neots Junior Open: results, report and photos.

What timing!

After appalling conditions on Saturday, Sunday provided stunning conditions for our first, and certainly not last, visit to St. Neots Golf Club.
A huge thank you must go to everyone at the club, from Paul the head professional, to the relay of starters on the first tee, who all could not have been more accommodating to the BJGT and its players. We would also like to thank the event sponsor, JMJ Air Conditioning & Refrigeration, for their support with Cambridgeshire events.

Junior Open Category

Micah Blowers continued his good form to claim another Junior Open victory posting a fine 74, two ahead of Joseph Drummond in second, with Lewis Beeden, Sam Epstein and Jack Lee all carding 78 for a share of third place.
Home member, Jake Gough, used his local knowledge to claim a maiden BJGT win in the Net Division with a brilliant 65, enough for a one-shot victory over Oliver Brightman, who in turn was a single shot ahead of Micah Blowers in third.

11-12 Age Group

The 11-12 Division continues to be extremely competitive with some superb scoring at the head of the field, as single shots separated each of the top 3 places: Ryan Gavin took the top spot after a round of 75, Sam Marshall (76) followed him home and Charlie Goodridge (77) completed the trophy winners.

9-10 Age Group

Finley White took home his first winner's trophy of 2019 in the 9-10 Division, in another incredibly close contest that saw two shots separate the top 7 players!
Michael Haywood and Tristan Evans finished as joint runners-up in the boys section with both shooting 49, along with Maisie Whittall whose 49 took the girls' section win, ahead of Lila-Belle Nacca (50) and Sapphire Boyce (58).

7-8 Age Group

Fraser Mackenzie once again made the trip down from Scotland well worthwhile, as another win (42) took him to the top of the Order of Merit table. Adian Van Emmenis showed that he is improving rapidly with a second place finish, just two shots back, and Alexander Dunmall (48) took third place.

6/Under Age Group

The top of the 6 & Under Division leaderboard had a familiar look to it, as Sebastian Duffield completed another win, ahead of 5-year old Marcus Karim in second, after rounds of 44 and 48 respectively, and there was a BJGT third place trophy for Ruaan Vamadevan (53), who completed the list of winners.

The BJGT now moves across to Oxfordshire and The Springs Golf Club next Sunday as the events come thick and fast!
