The British Junior Golf Tour arrives in Norfolk!
Thank you to everyone who made the journey to Norwich for event 8 of the British Junior Golf Tour season.
The Sprowston Manor Marriott Hotel & Country Club was a welcoming venue and the course was presented in very good condition. We particularly enjoyed the contoured and receptive greens and the challenges of the well-placed bunkers.
The Gross title in the Boys’ Mixed Division went to Max Weaver after a fine 72 (one over par) off the white tees. He was followed by Teddy Hall on 77, and Thomas Milton just another shot back, on 78. The Girls’ Gross winner trophy in the Mixed Division went to Erin Earl, who carded 84 off the red tees. The Boys’ Net category was won by Finley Burnett-Kiernan on 69, followed by Jack Palmer on 71.
In the 11-13 age category, playing 18 holes off the red tees, Jack Lee returned to the winners’ circle with one over par 72, with Tyler Weaver on 74 taking the runner-up trophy. Millie May Penfold claimed the girls’ first place with 86.
The 9-10 age category required a countback in the boys’ division, to decide the winner, with Luca Randall coming up on top to take the winner’s trophy with 41 for 9 holes off the red tees. With the same score, Rohan Neat was runner-up, while Ronnie Groves claimed the third place on 43. Zara Lilly Oomman carded 45 to take the girls’ winner trophy.
The 7-8 age category, playing 9 holes off forward tees, was won by Ellis Kerr with a great score of 39, followed by Michael Haywood on 45. Also carding 45 in this division was Sapphire Boyce, who claimed the girls’ winner trophy.
In the youngest age category (6 & Under), also playing 9 holes, off the shortest length tees, Sebastian Duffield’s great season continued, with another win, after he carded 41, while Jenson Ringer took the runner-up trophy with 43 and Oliver Aghera and Billy Parrish tied on 44 for third place.
The British Junior Golf Tour will be returning to Norfolk on 19 August, at Barnham Broom GC.
